Flower Care
Tips to help your blooms stay fresh and beautiful longer.
Trim the Stems
Upon receiving your flowers, trim 1-2 inches off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. This creates a fresh surface for water absorption. Re-trim every 2-3 days to keep stems fresh and able to drink.
Fresh Water Daily
Change the water in your vase every day, or at minimum every other day. Bacteria builds up quickly in standing water and can shorten the life of your blooms.
Use room temperature water and add the flower food packet if provided. Make sure no leaves are submerged below the waterline as they can rot and contaminate the water.
Keep Cool
Display your flowers away from direct heat sources like radiators, appliances, and heating vents. Cooler temperatures help flowers last longer. Avoid placing them near ripening fruit, which releases ethylene gas that can cause flowers to wilt prematurely.
Avoid Direct Sunlight
While flowers love light, direct sunlight can cause them to wilt faster. Choose a spot with bright, indirect light to enjoy your arrangement. A cool room with gentle natural light is ideal.
